First Impressions offers the most complete selection of custom and semi-custom
wood mailboxes of any site on the Web. These sturdy and unique boxes can be painted
or stained to
match your house color scheme, or simply left unfinished to age gracefully to a weathered
grey.All First Impression boxes are constructed of 7/8"
Rough Sawn Cedar, not the 1/2" or less seen elsewhere, meaning they will
withstand the elements for years to come. In addition to the
thicker material, each box has an inner structure of a standard
metal mailbox giving it strength and support to withstand even the
harshest weathers of the Midwest and meet all US Postal requirements.
If you want something more detailed then what we offer
below, we offer a
custom design service. The
custom box will draw
from architectural details of your home, such as roof lines and window
details. Please contact us and we can discuss creating something
truly one of a kind for your home. |

mentioned above, including a red plastic mail flag, and standard Brass
finish pull knob. Our boxes will
be shipped natural unfinished, (1001, 2001 & 3001 are shown
natural) optional
primed white finish is available on all boxes.

Installation Suggestions: The
Cedar wood used in construction contains a high amount of Tannins that
will bleed through most latex paint finishes. An oil based
exterior sealer like Kilz is suggested prior to application of any latex
paint. When painting with a light color, it is suggested that 2
coats be applied prior to painting. |

This paper shoot provides
for a place for your daily newspaper to be delivered protected from the
elements. They are built using the same Cedar wood and galvanized
fasteners that are used in the above wood mailboxes.
These Paper Shoots come in 2 sizes, the 4" version that mounts to a 4" x
4" post, or the 6", that fits a standard 6" x 6" post. |
